HTC set to face fierce competition in smartphone segment in 2010, say sources
HTC is set to see increasing competition in the global smartphone market in 2010 as other branded vendors, including Motorola, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics (LGE) and Sony Ericsson are gearing up the launch of smartphones, according to industry sources in Taiwan.

Taiwan market: Android accounts for 10% of smartphone segment
The Android platform accounted for 10% of all smartphones sold in the Taiwan market in December 2009, higher than the global average of 4-5% in the same period, according to a survey of retail channels in Taiwan.
